~ About
~ In a few short years ~ Scott Lawrie has carved out a strong reputation ~ as one of New Zealand’s most forward-thinking gallerists.
Scott Lawrie graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 1992, as a painter and printmaker. He then studied for his Master of Philosophy in Humanities at the same institution. A passionate collector, his first gallery was called The Vivian, situated in rural Matakana, about an hour outside of Auckland on New Zealand’s north island.
Today, Scott Lawrie Gallery is based in Auckland. With a particularly strong focus on Australian and New Zealand artists, the gallery represents an exciting range of mid-career and established artists, such as Patricia Piccinini and the Estate of Sally Gabori.
While the gallery’s home is in New Zealand, our reach is international, with a strong social media following and digital presence promoted to local and international audiences (including over 60 artist videos to date, with over 350,000 views between them).
