Towards The Forest asks artists to consider the use of landscape as a metaphor for the unknown; the erratic, sometimes frightening – but ultimately hopeful – times we live in. The works are bold, dark, mischievous and sometimes humorous, but they are all excellent examples of the calibre of art being produced in Aotearoa and Australia today.
As well as our represented artists (including a sensational work by Patricia Piccinini not to be missed!) and regular guest artists, this show features some outstanding work from Brent Harris courtesy of Robert Heald Gallery, Wellington, Michael Springer, Rebecca Harris, and introducing young artist Nick Jamieson for the first time.
