One of our most popular local artists, Janette Cervin is well known by visitors to The Vivian. But this show offers an altogether different perspective on her work – and a truly extraordinary immersive experience.
Botanical @ Fantastical showcases Janette's new, all-encompassing large-scale works. Monumental in ambition, with the largest work being over 2-metres wide, this body of work leaves you feeling like you're taking a walk back in time through New Zealand's rich flora and fauna.
Using a technique where layers are painstakingly painted with gentle contrasts, elegant colours (and the odd delightful visual surprise ) – these works are well worth taking the time to get to know.
