Known primarily as the lead singer of the Grammy award-winning Armenian- American hard rock band, System of a Down (boasting sales of over 40-million records worldwide) Serj Tankian’s journey as an artist is long and varied.
From being the front man in his band, a renowned singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, to composing film scores and being an active human rights campaigner, his art practice has become an important aspect of his creative output. But his calling back to his Armenian roots, and the tragedies and celebrations around it, are never far away.
