The Vivian is delighted to be representing Patricia Piccinini at the Auckland Art Fair, in conjunction with Tolarno Galleries, Melbourne.
Showcasing two powerful sculpture works – including the magnificent Sphinx (2012) – and two works on linen, Patricia's work is always a popular highlight of any exhibition.
Yet this populism should not overshadow the fact that these works are deeply poignant – reflective of our attitudes around image and judgement, as well as ideas of science, beauty and empathy.
Patricia Piccinini lives and works in Melbourne, and has attracted international renown since 2003, when she represented Australia at the prestigious Venice Biennale. Her 2016-17 Brazilian touring exhibition 'Consciousness', attracted more than 1.3 million visitors. Her current show at GOMA in Brisbane – taking over the entire ground floor of the gallery – has been an astronomical critical and popular success.
We look forward to seeing you at Booth C6!
